Where pressure washing makes the biggest difference
- Concrete walkways and front steps
- Paver and stone patios (see paver, patio & walkway cleaning)
- Pool surrounds and outdoor living areas
- Entryways, stoops and landings
- Driveways (see driveway cleaning & seal coating prep)
- Other hard exterior surfaces. The list ends with "and more", so just ask.
Pressure washing vs. soft washing
"Pressure washing" is often used to mean all exterior cleaning, but there are really two methods. Pressure washing uses a stronger stream of water and suits durable surfaces like concrete. Soft washing uses low pressure plus a cleaning solution and suits siding and more delicate surfaces. Picking the right one for each surface is the whole job. More pressure is not always better. Freeze-thaw cycles work water into the pores of concrete and the joints of pavers. Plow sand and road salt get tracked onto walks and steps. Shady spots stay damp through spring and turn green and slick. A spring cleaning clears all of that, makes walkways look cared for again, and gets rid of the slippery film that builds up in damp corners.
What to expect
Every surface is different, so we look at yours first, from photos or in person. Some stains, like old oil spots or rust, may lighten without disappearing completely. If that's likely, we'll tell you up front so the result matches what you expected.
